Hammer Question

I have a purple tip hammer. I had it near a front corner and the tips have started to turn white. I moved it towards the middle of the tank which seems to have slowed the whitening. The hammer is on the sand bed near the middle of the tank. It is a LED Biocube 32 with stock lighting for now. I do have plans on picking up an AI Prime HD. In the tank I also have a favia brain coral that really likes where I have it placed near the middle of the tank on the sand bed at the base of some rock.

So how do I avoid this hammer from turning white and end up dying?

Start it off in the shade or an area of very low light and edge it out into the light over time. You should be able to tell when the coral is happy by the color and overall appearance. GL.

Have the hammer moved to the side of the tank next to the rock. I do have a very shaded spot that I will move it if the whitening continues. This is weird because I only have the stock LED lighting as of yet. Will do a what change later today, will do 5 gallons as it is only the Biocube 32. I have Red Sea Coral Pro Salt that I will be using.

Well cannot do a 5 gallon water change tonight, will try again tomorrow. I tested the water with the following results: CA2 = 420 ppm, KH = 89.5 ppm, Phosphate = 0 ppm, Nitrate = 0 ppm, Nitrites = 0.25 ppm, PH = 8.3, Ammonia = 0 ppm, Salinity = 1.025.
