So I got a few colonies of hammer from a guy whose tank was basically crashing. They where completely white and with almost no tissue at all, the heads where almost completely receded into the polyp skeleton. The awesome thing about LPS is if you baby them and give them what they need they can come back from nothing. Sadly I am not a professional photographer what so ever so I apologize in advance for my picture taking.
Before I added them I let them soak in a 50/50 iodine and tank water mix for about 15 minutes. Iodine in my opinion has helped recover some of my LPS from the brink of death. They where put in moderate flow and moderate lighting, I feed Red Sea reef nutrition daily and I dose iodine to help with tissue loss.
