Hi experts, my rose gold hammer started whipping out long tentacles (as long as 10inches) last few days... not very sure why...

Anthing I should be doing.. i am worried it will start stinging other corals nearby. Thanks.

My splatter branching hammer has been doing the same thing ever since it started splitting. I suspect it's reaching for turf. It stung the crap out of one of my micromussas (since moved). It's pretty close to a bi colored hammer and they seem to be OK together.

He's mad. There's something to close that he is trying to sting. I put an acan near one thinking time was safe. It was up stream but the yellow hammer zapped it. Maybe a short move for him. I just moves a bunch of hammers that we're fine till the grew. Then they looked mad all the time. Best wishes.

Moved/isolated him from the rest, still seeing his sweepers out.

From time to time it happens. I've changed flow before and all the hammers and torches went crazy for a few days. Since you're original post I've had to move a splatter hammer from a yellow for the same issue. Keep you water in good shape and enjoy your hammer. He looks good.

A quick update... after I moved the hammer it was still showing the sweepers for a few more days. Its been a while and I am not seeing the sweepers any more. Thanks all for the help.
