Anyone what help with my hammer? Have had hammers before with no luck, they usually just fade away. Here we go again. Have had this guy for about two months and was baseball when I got him and now he is golf ball. Tried flow, tried moving him , no luck. Using reeefi duo extremes so it not light, have tried roids no avail, mysis and sometime will take. olny parameter high is po4 at 1.0 , A11, mag 1350, cal 422, sal 1.026, ph 8.3, no nitrite, .5 nitrate, Am I just missing something? torches and acans and favia all fine... ??????? any tips would be appreciated. Tks Herman

I don't know what the problem is. But a hammer is 90% skeleton and 10% polyp at the end of a stalk. How does it shrink from baseball size to golf ball size?

Also, I assume A11 is you alkalinity? is that 11.0 dKH? If so, that is a bit high, but shouldn't be a big issue to the hammer.

You are using reeefi duo extreme fixtures. I've been considering them. I had Daniel's earlier pendant fixture and it made good PAR and spectrum and he provided very good customer service. But I'm already very tied into Reef Breeders Photons. I'm just curious about your current feeling for the Reefi fixture. Are you local to Reefi in the Pacific NW?

Is it a wall or branching hammer? My experiences with wall are that they tend to be very sensitive to too much light. I usually start wall hammers around 50 PAR (mostly just blues and UV) then take about 90 days to 100 PAR. I've killed a lot of wall hammers in the past with too much light.

ron: Cant say enough about daniel and reefi. love the lights and very easy to get help from them.
the hammer is branching I think only one head and it is 30 inches in tank so par is low even with reefi
HAVE NEVER HAD ANY LUCK WITH HAMMERS FOR SOME REASON NOR BUBBLE ANENOMES (WHITE) BUT HAVE (FIVE) ROSE ANENOMES IN CURRENT TANK FOR 10 YEARS!!!!!!!! Sorry for caps Herman
