Hi everyone, been a while since I posted, which is good I guess because I usually post here with problems haha

I have had my hammerhead and frogspawn in my tank now for about 3 months. Up until about a week ago they were fully opened and looking beautiful.

For the past week both of them haven't opened up and the hammer head is releasing some white strings. Frogspawn isn't releasing anything but is not opening up.

Anyone have any experience of this? I am waiting on my order of test kit to do testing, but strip test shows no ammonia, nitrite or nitrate and I dose Fuel every week.

Thank you

Btw the string is noticeable in one of the upper middle heads.

Those white strings your seeing are Mesenterial Filaments. (basically the corals guts) Sometimes these are used as a defence mechanism, other times it could just be an indication that the coral is a little upset at the moment. Definitely check your parameters as soon as possible and make sure the coral has plenty of room on all sides. GL.

An easy thing to do while waiting is grab a decent amount (100ml+), and head on over to your LFS, or even petsmart etc if you have one.
They test water for free.

Keep in mind if they see something they'll get annoying and try and get all salesman-y, but its much better than waiting & not knowing whats going on.

Some stores charge a little extra, but you can have them check for KH, Calcium, Phosphates, & Magnesium as well!

I see all other corals like zoas palys shrooms and xenias are doing just fine, hoping to watch carefully and it heals back up. Thanks for the information
