Is there a hand lotion out there that is reef/fish safe? I always was my hands first before doing anything with the tank. Just curious. I get really dry and cracked skin during the winter months.

A lot of people use surgical gloves when working with their tank. I wouldn't trust any lotion product as they all have an oil element to them.

Coconut oil! What can't you use that stuff for lol? I keep a little bottle of it in my medicine cabinet and use it on my hands, face, body, hair, and I even sometimes use it in the kitchen:rolleyes:Although I keep that one seperate haha;)

I second the gloves. I prefer to never let my skin come into contact with the tank water.

Check amazon for trauma gloves. They're almost elbow length and are powder and latex free.

I worry about it being bad for my tank too. I use gold bond every day. I have tried to limit putting my hands in the tank but making a grabber tool with wood dowles and for sure never put my hands in the tank with out washing them w/o soap.
