Looking for some info on a hob skimmer for a 30 hex tank?

I haven't used a HOB skimmer in many years but I am hearing some good stuff about this Aquamaxx. It has a bubble plate.

i have a CPR HOB skimmer. works well and isnt too bulky. i also have the CPR skimmer with fuge. probably too big for the hex. but the cpr skimmers are well made.

How's the fuge working for you? How long does the "stringy blue stuff" need to be replaced or just rinse off with freshwater? Thanks!

I took the stringy blue stuff out of mine. I figure there is plenty of bacteria in the rock/sand. One less thing to clean too.

I am using an Eshoppe PSK100H hob skimmer. My tank has been currently running for about 3 months and I have never had an issue in the slightest with that skimmer. It seems like it gets more efficient every day. Super easy to setup and adjust.

Oh i forgot to mention my tank is a 46 gallon bowfront, so it should work even better with yours if you choose to go with the same one.

I have a Rio HOB skimmer. It's pretty good especially for the price, but you do have to be on top of it constantly. I have a 30 gallon cube and it collects a lot of waste.
