There are many ways to hang a light, some you can buy arms for that attach to the tank, some come with these. Or yes you can hang it from the ceiling if you wish, or you can DIY a lighting system that will work for your needs best..
I'm trying to figure out a way of not hanging from the ceiling, but couldn't find any suspension system that looks easy to install. If you have any suggestions, I would really appreciate.
I have a fish only tank, but would like to start growing corals. Could someone recommend a good brand (+specs) of light that I should buy? (I'm sorry if this question is somewhere else -- if so, please point me to the answer.)
I placed egg crate material atop the tank, and simply placed the lights on that. Works with black boxes. Don't try it with LED pucks - they are hot and will melt the egg crate. Obviously won't work with some of the pendants either.
I used forged metal plant hangers to suspend my light. The board on the back is screwed into studs and the brackets are screwed into the board. I could put a shelf across the top, but we have a cat that likes to climb... so probably no shelf.
