I just got the ATI 4-bulb Sunpower and it came with a hanging kit. I’m going to watch some videos before I do it, but are there any hints or tips any of you can pass along? The fixture seems pretty heavy to be suspended by those wires hanging from the ceiling but the BRS guys assured me it would work. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

I have my 48 inch hanging from flip out hooks right thru the dry wall ceiling. I'd think plenty strong .

Just make sure you hit ceiling joists with your screws and you'll be fine.

I have a 6-bulb hanging from their kit with no issue. The toggle bolts they include are generally rated for ~50lbs each.

Stud finder.
What if the joists don’t align with the tank? Please forgive my ignorance; I’m pretty handy but I have this image of my new light and the ceiling crashing down on the tank!

Is this just in the ceiling?

Yes , You could use a 1 by 4 painted to look good at least screw that to rafter beams Then mount heavy duty hook screws in the 1by 4, right where the hangers come down. That would be plenty strong. I'll show you a pic in a little while of both ways .

here Ya go HPIM9242.JPG this toggle bolt/hooks suspended from the drywall.

HPIM9240.JPG this is where a 1 by 4 was screwed to the rafter beams then the lights were hung from the 1 bty 4

So ceilings are made with sheetrock right? I’m telling myself there are no stupid questions in reefing, lol.

Yes thats correct. I think you will be fine. This is how they expect you to hang it.

Does anyone know what size hole to drill in the ceiling? I see zero instructions and the Internet hasn't been that helpful either.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
