hello all I’m thinking about grabbing the aquatic life t5 hybrid to use with my radion. The problem is I’m not very handy and I know hanging it from the ceiling would be a night mare for me. Anyone have and tips or guides on how to hang from the ceiling? Any help would be appreciated

Not being sarcastic, recruit a friend with tools?? :)

Picture of where you are looking to hang the light, and the light would also help us to get answer:)

I'm not sure what all the hanging kit includes, but I'd imagine you will only need a few things and an extra hand! I'm getting ready to order a light as well, which will be my first time hanging one! Just be sure to locate the stud!

I used Geissmann wall mounts. Have 2 XR-15 G4 pros w/ diffusers, 2 Kessil A360WE, and ATI B+, B+,C+, B+

The main tool you will need is a plumb bob. Align the fixture above the aquarium on a couple boards. Use plumb bob to align whole in ceiling to fixture. Mount to ceiling. Not too bad.

I can post a pic of the spot later. The fixture I don’t have yet it will be the aquatic life 24” t5 led hybrid with a radion g4 pro. The biggest fear is lining it up with my tank

Use a string and drop it down from the ceiling with a thumb tack;)

I was right where you were. I can do all of this at work but around my existing tank i get too scared to do anything lol. I went to home depot and got two heavy duty shelf brackets and put toggle bolts theough the sheet rock to hold them nice and secure. Theyre rated for 300lbs or something like that each. I had someone help me and it turned put great

I hear ya my wife didn’t know I’m even planning on this upgrade and hanging it from the ceiling. It’s just easier to do it and let her forgive me hahahha

I think that goes for a majority of reefers, looking for forgiveness:rolleyes:

I’ve add T5s to both my tanks with LEDs. Since we have vaulted ceilings I opted to build a rack out of t-slot and mount it To the back of the tanks. I also hate wires and was able to hide the wires in the t-slot. Just a suggestion.
