Hanging lights inside canopy

Does anyone have pictures of how they have their lights hung inside a canopy? I have a 180 Monterey stand and canopy from marineland. I'm thinking about cutting a whole in the top of the canopy so I can raise my lights and get better ventilation. Does anyone have pictures of this? Much appreciated

I've mounted a few sets of lights through the canopy. I cut a square hole for the fan, rearranged/added some 1" x 2" bracing, and used some fender washers to help spread out the weight. Once the fixtures were mounted, I also added pieces of window air conditioner filter material to help keep the fans clean, and finished off with some black egg crate.
