Hanging your LED fixture - HOW is yours mounted?

That's part of why I never bothered spending the money on radions. I have had more expensive fixtures than the dm155e, but I went to it and sold my expensive lights because it worked and I could get some cash back out for other things. Radions are great but I don't like having a fixture run at 65 percent that I paid so much for.

I have a Kessil A360W on its flexible pole which I attached to the rail of an upward projecting, free standing floor lamp from Lowe's. It makes the light look like it is hovering over the tank.

Used a wavepoint t5 hanging kit I had lying around
Can be had for~$13

I chose the GripLock Hanging kit for our DIY.

Its three Axis which works great for a large tank. By tilting the fixture you can optimize the focus and minimize the spill.

The drywall anchors are also rated for 30LBs. I've seen a lot of hanging options and like GripLock the best.

Thanks for all the input. Here is now it sits now. I plan to use some angled aluminum bar to complete it instead of the wire. right now it is tilted to the back and I do like that it minimizes light spillage on the front side. my 180 has Zero light spillage so it will take some getting used to in the dark room.

When I first did mine, I was thinking that I wanted to keep the brushed aluminum look, but was concerned about salt air and corrosion.
A friend told me that he used aluminum bars for hanging some lights and found that silicon spray worked very well to stop it.
He said just a little on a rag and wipe it down was all he needed for long term success.

I didn't try it because I wanted to see how long it would take to notice anything.
After 10-11 months I don't see any corrosion and any surface that I haven't actually touched it with some wet (saltwater) container of somesort.
I still plan on checking into having it anodized.

I used to live in Tampa and took an old school Aluminum Grumman Canoe on the brackish waters. After years of salt water exposure I only noticed a few spots of very inconsequential pitting or corrosion.

The Heatsinks over my tanks are going on 6 years and I've noticed no corrosion. A few stainless steel screws are another story.
