Has anyone run across this error message? I have no clue how to fix this. The owners manual offers no help..........just this---

Light High:
There is too much light to perform a measurement.
Please check the preparation of the zero cuvette.

Nothing has changed in how I have used the unit. I tried to use it in a lower lit room and I still get the same error. I also changed out the battery and this didn't help.

Check the amount of water that you have in the cuvette it may be to much when I got that error in the past I had to much water in the cuvette.

Silly question, but are you closing the lid on the checker?

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I always fill to the line and never had this problem before.

The instructions say to fill it with 10mls of water, so I'll measure it out or just use slightly less on purpose and see if this helps.
------------------------------

The lid is closed on the checker. This is a checker I've had for over a year and has worked fine with no issues in the past.

I believe the unit is broken. I've tried to slightly adjust levels as well as an exact amount(10mls) per directions.

I cleaned the inner area with a Kimwipe hoping to wipe any dust or anything else that may be causing this error and that didn't help.

The C1 reading takes unusually long and then I get the hi light error. Sometimes with multiple tries(same sample) it will give me the C2 display. Once I follow through and get a reading it's very high----- .25 range.

I've compared it to a 714 I have and I'm getting .04

I'll contact hanna during the week to see what they say.
