The documentation states: Accuracy ±0.3 dKH ±5% of reading.

I'm not entirely sure what information Hanna is trying to impart with 2 different values for accuracy.

Hopefully, someone can clear it up for me.

Those two things add up, if that makes sense.

For example:
If the checker says 7.0, that means the value is 7 +/- 0.3 +/-5% of 7.
Or 7 +/- 0.3 +/- 0.35.
Or somewhere between 6.35 and 7.65 dKH.

Thanks! I never considered it being additive.

Wouldn’t it be between 6.75dkh to 7.35dkh?

Do NOT sweat accuracy... but consistently use the same test and react to SWINGS (deltas)

Stick with Salifert, Rea Sea or Hanna fir a year or two. Mixing mfrgs will drive you nutz

The 0.35 would be +/-3%.

The way I read it, it's +/-3% and +/- 0.3, so +/- 0.65
How I understood it was either +/- 0.3 or +/- 5% of reading.

So is alk is 7dkh, a range from 6.7dkh to 7.3dkh is in the claimed accuracy.

Or if you want to do percentages, then 7dkh +/-5% is 6.65 to 7.35.

This was your quoted post from above which I think was a typo :

Or somewhere between 6.35 and 7.65 dKH.

Gonna sell mine, the reagent is just too flaky. I have one bottle opened two weeks ago reading 7.3, and one I just opened reading 9.3

Salifert is 8.3

Goes down as one of the more expensive piece of crud purchases I have made for my reef.

I have exact the same experience. I also noticed when I am about 50% of the bottle the color of reagent changes and some gunk forms in the bottle and it get into the sample vial.
I finally got trident and I am happy with those tests.
