Nitrates are at 5. I noticed burnt Tips so I was trying to figure out the issue. Alk stays pretty stable 8.9 in the morning 8.9 in the afternoon and 8.9 in the evening this was done on the Hanna.Salifert tends to read a bit high. BRS recently had a comparison of the major alk tests and they liked both Salifert and Hanna.
The thing is, the absolute reading is NOT that important. Corals can be raised successfully at an DKH of 8, 9, 10 and so on. Stability of the ALK seems to be more important than the absolute value. An exception is if you run low nutrients with SPS corals in which case you would want to run at a DKH of about 8.
Any pics of the possible burnt tips?Nitrates are at 5. I noticed burnt Tips so I was trying to figure out the issue. Alk stays pretty stable 8.9 in the morning 8.9 in the afternoon and 8.9 in the evening this was done on the Hanna.
