Which model do you want to get for a reef tank of the Hanna alkalinity checker??

I want to order one because I really don't understand the red sea test and the Hanna checkers are alot easier because I have the phosphorus checker and the calcium checker also

I have the dkh checker and love it. I used to use the Red Sea test kit but I think reading it was a pain. Very happy with the Hanna checker. I also use the phosphate checker as well

I use the one that's reads ppm and like it a lot.

+1
Me to exactly the same - dKH version - very easy to use.

Hanna checker is the best tester and good choice if you want to get alk test chose dkh result not ppm

The ppm will give you a more accurate reading.

They are the same. The dKH version does the conversion for you.
I use the ppm (755) and I don't convert anymore. I just use the ppm.
My tank sits between 143 and 147.

Ok thanks everyone and I guess that I'm gonna go with the dkh checker

I just saw a question being asked on bulk reef supply site that asked about calibrating the checker are you supposed to calibrate all the Hanna checkers and is there something that you gotta buy separate to calibrate them

I haven't used my phosphorus checker yet because I've been using my red sea test kit but I'm about to start using that test and I'm about to buy the alkalinity checker to

The big thing with the Hanna checkers are the glass test tubes have to be super clean even your finger print can make the test off alittle bit. So what I do is hold it with a micro fiber cleaning cloth so I don't touch it.

I agree. Micro fiber cleaning cloth and I do RO/DI rinse if further cleaning is needed I use Hanna cuvette cleaner solvent. Just FYI if you shop for reagents and supplies from hanna's web site you can save $$$. Not advertising.

I use the Hanna ppm checker and made up a card with the conversions. I read in ppm and record in DKH. People understand DKH more then ppm.
To conversions from ppm to dkh

ppm results * 0.056 = dkh result
