Hello all,
Just got a new bottle of reagent for the alkalinity meter. As soon as I mixed it in the vile, I could notice it was visibly less blue then normal. Usually get about 9-10 with the old reagent. (6157 exp 11/17) New reagent I got 7.7 twice (6522 exp 7/18). Anyone have these lot numbers? Thank you.

Can you do a second opinion by a LFS?
In my opinion the regents get old pretty fast.
My regent don't last longer than three weeks as I check ALK everyday on two systems.

Spoke with Hanna. They are sending a new reagent. Great customer service.

Yes Hanna does have a awesome CS.
And they aren't afraid to tell us if a regent is bad and do a recall.
Always use common sense as I see ppl testing ALK low and dosing accordingly to bring it up while at the same time the ALK level is great.
as result is that unknowingly they raise the ALK dangerous high with all bad results that if a second opinion was taken you could have avoided that.
If you have priced corals my advice is to have a second ALK test kit as in Salifert or Redsea it's just a $25 piece of mind that can help you in these situations.
Of course a close by friend or LFS can be awesome as well to do a second test for you.
