I've owned the alk. version for years. I think it's a great product. When I purchased it yeara ago, I remember the calcium version being inaccurate or at least inconsistent. Has it improved in either or bith departments?

I find it pretty reliable

They've added a 100μl mechanical pipette so that made it more accurate. And they sell the deionized water to rule out the potential calcium in your RODI water.

Most just use RODI. It's still as accurate if not more than most kits

Why not just used deionized water from the supermarket

Got a jug of CVS distilled water just for the test. Took a few mess ups but now it takes me less than 5 min and dead on accurate. Very easy to mess up quick to master though.

You don't have to use the water but I'm just mentioning since the op is looking for accuracy. According to Hanna there could be a small amount of calcium in the distilled water. For our purposes it's negligible.
