Does anyone use the Hanna calcium checker and can clarify how to use this time. Just seems odd that it’s asking for deionized water would RO water work just fine?

Yes, as long as you have a DI cylinder as part of your RO system it's fine.
 
I don’t have one but when I was looking into it I thought the directions specifically said distilled which isn’t the same as deionzed? There was something I read somewhere that using anything else will give inaccurate results?
 
I use the Hanna Calcium checker and I buy their water to do my tests with it. I only buy their water to eliminate any possibility of my RODI water as a possible source of errors. This test has a love/hate reputation with a lot of people. I believe that part of the hate comes from improper testing procedures. I personally like mine.
