Every time I use my hanna cal tester it reads L.Hi or L.H1.
I try it a couple times then it finally starts the test.
Anyone know why the test kit is doing that and is there a solution to avoid getting that error message ?

Also those who use this test kit do u like it ?

I really seem to love the alk tester from hanna but I seem to get different reading for the cal test kit when I test back to back .

Ive never used the Hanna cal checker Ive seen to many bad reviews. I use saliferts for cal and Hanna for phos and Alk. Good luck with it.

Thanks I just ordered a salifert cal test kit.
This way I can test with both kits and see if they measure close to the same .

The primary issue I've found with the Hanna Calcium Checker is that there's a dilution involved, which amplifies any error. So, if you follow the steps really carefully, and use 0 TDS RO/DI (preferably lab grade distilled water), it is more accurate. I use both two titration based tests (Red Sea and Salifert) and the Hanna. I'll test with one, and if I have reason to doubt it, I'll try another. I have found that there are some bad batches of reagents for the Checker out there as well, and Hanna is really great about sending you (free of charge) replacement reagents.

Thanks, I will definitely all Hanna tomorrow and see if they will send me some new reagent or even a new test kit, since I have only had the tester for a couple months.
I do use ro di water but not there rodi so that might be another reason I keep getting the error message.

I've not used the calcium checker and I know some folks have issues with it, but the nature of the RO/DI shouldn't matter if it is adequately pure (0 ppm TDS). :)
