Hanna Checker Alk Reagent

Don’t know if I’m posting at the right forum, but since we are all stix people, here I go. I have a Hanna Checker Alkalinity HI755 (ppm), I have been buying reagent HI772 for dKH without knowing. Are they compatible? Should I start buying reagent for the ppm model?

I would start buying the right one.
I have the dkh model and when im buying the reagent there is a difference in price to the ppm model so they are likely different chemicals

I accidentally did this as well. Once I corrected it I was getting diff numbers so I assume like last poster said they are two diff chemicals

This is semi-related. Historically, every time I've purchased Alk reagents for my Hanna Checker, the batches I've purchased expired well before I've used up the reagents when I've stocked up, pushing me to simply abandon the Hanna Checker for alkalinity testing. It's also almost easier for me to use Salifert for alkalinity at this point. Although I continue to use Hanna for phosphorus/phosphate. Maybe that's just me, though.

THey are the same Chemical Regeants......
There are two testers, with Differrent Unit Displays.
So Hanna sells two Alk Reagent for each of their Product.
Why I have no idea. Guess it's to keep in line with Two Products.
I tried both in the (ppm) Egg, and get same values.

There has to be some reason, maybe different concentration?
And some people are getting different results.

Hanna themselves say there is no difference so there isnt a reason, or different concentrations or different anything.

I don't know, I agree it doesn't make sense but I presume it makes sense to Hanna

Interesting i called Hanna a few weeks back and they said that the two reagents are different!! So no idea what is going on here

Strange, they told me they are the same, My lfs told me they are the same and iirc BRS say they are the same, also if you google it most others say its the same, so who knows, if in doubt dont use it.

They are not the same. They have a different product code. The reagent product codes match up with the checker they are meant for, that's why there are two different ones.

So a difference in packaging pretty much.
