Hanna checker Hi 713

Anyone knows what this error message is on Hanna phosphate hi 713??

Maybe @Hanna Instruments can chime in!

I don't know what that error code is but usually the manual has a list of error codes. I use the ultra low phosphate checker and I checked mine and it doesn't show that error code, but I'm not sure if your manual will tell or not.

Can't find that error either in the manual or with a google search. Curious, I have had that meter for years.

Yup it's not on the manual. Looked everywhere. Nothing!!

I wonder if Hanna changed the code at some point. Manual says it flashes if the sample is too high. I wonder if that stands for sample high.

Was this a one off? Seen it before? Did you retest?

Just started happening 2 days ago!. Now I can't test anything since I get that message everytime

Here is a short clip of when I fist press the button to start it to go to c1. It displays 2.00 then 00 then 2.00 then C1.

I go thru the motion of c1 to c2 as usual and when the 3 mins are up it displays that S.Hi. never seen that ever anywhere!!

Change the battery and make sure the plugin is connected tight.
I had some display issues on my 5+ year old unit and I think it was the connection.

Ok ! I found the issue! The problem was with the connector on the bottom somehow! The minute you mentioned it I went and swapped the connector of the Hanna alk with the phosphate and guess what! It worked!!

Still that shouldn't happens on a 2 month checker. You failed me Hanna instruments

Maybe @Hanna Instruments should send me the master photometer for the inconvenience discovering a new error code for them to add to the menu of error message.

So changing subject a bit...How good? Accurate? and time saving/easy testing are these Hannah testers compared to old school drops/color judgement readings?

I would say slightly better given they give you digital reading instead of the manual titration guessing game!

Yeah . It takes about 5 minutes to get the results so I would say no. Not time saving. I still use other testers ( salifert/ redsea.) I can get the test done under a 5 min mark.

I use trident for KH/CA/ Mag and that is definitely a time saver but it's an investment for sure!

Still using Hanna for Phos and nitrate untill they come out with an automated device hopefully.

I have used the alk daily for 5 years and its fast. However always have another way to test and preferably 2 ways.
My alk unit has been reading 0.5 units higher for some reason.
I cross check with salifert and elos.
I actually like salifert as I also use it to test the effluent of my carx.
I am going to buy a new alk unit today as mine is over 5 years old now. If the new one reads higher then I will keep using them but wont be all that happy, lol.
