Who uses Hanna Checker?

Which do you use? I see there’s HR and ULR for most

Which should I get?

Many will not work in seawater, so be careful what you get.

The ultra low phosphorus and the alk are quite popular. Calcium less popular, but still useful.

Phosphorus URL not sure why the marine is PPB and call

That's just a marketing distinction to make it seem ever more special relative to the HI713. :D

I use the Alk DKH, Phosphorus ULR, Calcium, Ph and Salinity. I love the speed and accuracy of them compared to titration. Plus some of the titration kits are really hard to read.

The maple syrup one. This will test how sweet your tank is. Higher the number the better SPS and maybe LPS will do. Softies don't care.

Seriously though, Phosphorus ULR, Alk and maybe calcium are the top choices. Correct me if I am wrong, Phosphorus is the amount of free resources before converting to phosphate. To roughly find out what your phosphates are multiply phosphorus by 3.066 then divide by 1000. This is what I do.

My phosphorus is at 7 ppb which is around .021 phosphate (PO4).

Have fun,
Paul

The Hanna Phosphorus ULR ONLY measures inorganic phosphate. It does not actually measure total phosphorus (meaning it cannot detect organic phosphate or other phosphorus forms).

It uses the exact same chemistry method as the 713 Low Range Phosphate checker.

So, Randy, will the Phosphorus ULR and 713 LRP get the same end result level?
Thanks,
Todd

The ULR reads more accurately at the low end, where it is most important to be correct.
