Hanna checkers and fresh water?

This may be an odd question for a reef-centric forum, but aside from my reef tank I have a planted tank I just re set up. I love my Hanna checkers and would love to never have to use the api test kits again.
do Hanna checkers work for fresh water?specifically the high range tester.

I asked about the other tests on a freshwater forum a while ago. What I got was simply that the better kits work, but just are much more accurate (and expensive) than you need to worry about. Nothing wrong with using them though.
