Which ones are reliable and worth getting?

Alkalinity and po4 are good the rest are questionable

I use the Alk,Cal, and Ultra low phosphorus. They all work very well for me. You will hear a lot of people complain about the calcium checker. It is the most time consuming of the bunch. Although with the new kits the biggest problem with getting a correct sample has greatly been improved with the included pipette.

I use Alk, phosphate, was using ph (got a probe for my apex so I stoped using it) and calcium (takes longer than the rest but it is still easy and fast). All of them are very accurate!

I use the Alk,Ca, and Ultra low phosphorus. Many complain about the Ca not being accurate. The problem with that test is you have to measure 0.1 ml of sample using a syringe. If you are off by 0.01 ml (1 hundredth of a ml), your reading will be off by 10%. So 420 Ca could be 462 or 378 ppm. Not good. You have to be very careful measuring out the 0.1 ml sample. Better, do what I did and get a digital pipet to measure out the 0.1 ml of sample. If I repeat my Ca test using the same sample, now I am always +/- 1 ppm of Ca. It doesn't get much better than that.

I use the Alk and phos (not checker, benchtop photometer type) and I have the Ca checker, but I use Salifert due to the pita factor of the Checker.

I have found the new pipette Hanna now includes in the calcium test kit to be accurate and very easy to use to get the .01 test sample. How much did you pay for the digital pipette?

I use alk and used to use calc. The calc consistently tested low due to the crappy pipette they give you. If you go with the calcium checker, buy a digital pipette like was mentioned above.
