There's a guy that has 3 hanna Checkers for sale in a local Group by me. they've been stored for at least a year, and I'm worried about the electrodes not being stored in the electrode storage solution like they're supposed to be. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Also has salinity checker, 3 years old or better. Any issues from non use? I would hate to spend money to get something at my house that I'm super excited to get and then turn around and be sol. Tia!!

Which checkers are they? Only the pH probe needs stored in solution.

If they are colorimeters you don't have anything to worry about. Salinity should be fine as well, may need a good cleaning.

TheyrTh alkalinity, phosphate and calcium. The salinity checker is Milwaukee. The reason I ask is because when I started looking up for the reagents I saw a bottle of electrode storage solution and that kind of made me raise my eyebrows since they've been sitting for at least a year.

I’d snag them. I use the same phosphate, alkalinity, and salinity testers.

You will be fine. None of those require any solution for storage.

The cuvettes may need a good cleaning. But nothing to worry about IMO

My Hanna ph checker came with directions, if I remember correctly you just have to soak the electrode (end of checker) in the fluid as if it were brand new. Maybe look on Hanna's website and see if you can download the user manual. Best of luck.
