thinking about getting some Hanna checkers to replace my API test kit since it doesn’t seem to give a very good rating at the low end for nitrate and phos. Any recommendations on the ULR vs regular

Also any others I should get??

No nitrate Hanna available (grr). For Phosphate, ULR is for saltwater. I believe they actually just released one that measures in PPM instead of PPB, so you don't have to convert like people have been doing for years, so you get that added bonus. But it is super easy and efficient!

They make nitrate...I found some online on Amazon and their website has them

Nevermind I can’t read
haha was it for Freshwater? I've done that before. Really wish they could figure out a saltwater one. I hate Nitrate tests. I have an API and a Red Sea Pro. Red Sea is a little easier for me personally to read, in case you wanna check it out.

No I was trying to read the label on my phone and it was for nitrite haha oops

So the ULR is PPB and regular is PPM?

The test kit i have now is PPM and I can’t get a good reading i have 0 or asight amount

Definitely ULR if you get the Phosphorus tester.

The only other one I invested in was the Alkalinity checker due to the amount I use it. My other test kits are cheaper ones since I do not use them very often.

I have the Hanna Ulr & alk kits. They are very convenient & no guessing at colors. They are more expensive but worth the convenience . Is You decide to purchase a Hanna order extra reagents with it . they go quick until ya ge the hang of operating the kit properly especially the ulr, po4 tester. I had the regular Po4 checker & broke down & got the ulr. good move on my part.

I love my Hannah Alk checker. Have plans for Ulr Phosphorus soon after trying out my buddies checker.

I switched from Red Sea to Nyos for Nitrate and really really prefer it. Simple and ease to see the colors with the Nyos kit for me.

I believe that is the case. But now, they are making an ULR meter that tests in PPM. I think. Let me see if I can find that again.
