Greetings
I have been trying to find a easy to read thermometer that’s accurate within a couple of degrees. Can the Hanna checktemp1 be used as a full time thermometer for the reef tank by placing the probe in the overflow box or will it corrode? I’ve been through enough of the Coralife digitals and find them off as much as 5 degrees and I’m scared of the ink bird controllers, just one more thing to break.
any insight would be greatly appreciated.
thanks John

I would save your money and either get a floating thermometer since the coralife thermometer doesn’t work. I don’t know what kind of overflow box you have and if a floating thermometer would fit or work in there. Good to know about the coralife thermometer though. I have had mine and it matched the readings on four other thermometers from the get go. But other cheap Amazon ones I have had have been as much as 4 degrees off as you said. Although all the hanna checkers are extremely good, I find it a little overkill for a thermometer compared to some other cheap thermometers you’ll find. Hope my input helps!

Thanks for the reply
I really like the digital so you can walk by and see it quickly. I have several floating sinking and they are off as well. It’s been posted on many threads that thermometers are built poorly. ill Have to email Hanna
