Hi

I’m looking for advice on Hanna phosphate checkers.

I currently have the Hanna HI736 checker but stopped using it years ago due to the bloody stupid battery saving feature. i.e. as you’re in the middle attempting to prepare the sample by ensuring the reagent is fully dissolved, the unit will simply switch off (I believe it gives you 3 minutes, if you accidentally exceed the allotted 3 minutes, the HI736 will automatically power off).

Does anybody here use the HI774 checker? The user manual for this model states it won’t auto shutdown for 7 minutes, can anybody confirm this? If this indeed the case, I’ll happily purchase this model.

Thanks for any input.

Sound about right although I never timed it. I always have plenty of time even with the 2 minute mix time.

The high 736 in PPB is a good device.
Just don’t press the button until your water is in the curvette and your reagent package is open and ready to poor.

Then you’ll have 2 minutes to spare.
