Hanna Nitrate Colorimeter Question

The book does say it has auto off after 10 minutes.
I have no trouble getting from C1 to C2. But once I'm on C2 it either goes right to the reading (short/medium press) or off (long press).
This was my first time with a Hannah instrument so maybe it's just me. I will try again when I get home from work.

I will also add that if my finger isn’t squarely on the button or I have a tremor it sees it as a double tap and shuts off instantly but only at c two. Even if I press and hold the button, but not long enough, it will shut off. There’s definitely a sweet spot. For consistency I gave up on that step
