Been using a salifertility test kit for alk. Almost out so time to decide if I should go to the hanna checker for alk. Anyone who has used both please advise. Thanks.

I've really enjoyed using my hanna checker, super simple to use and not as messy as a typical titration method kit such as the salifert.

Have them both. Very close test results after I figured out I had a bad bottle of reagent. Hanna easier to use.

I have both and use the Hanna because it's just so simple. It and the Salifert kit I have are consistently within .2-.3 dKh of one another so I wouldnt make the switch based on anything other than convenience.

i will sell you my Hanna cheap as soon as the Trident comes out!!!:D:D:D:cool:

I like my Hanna (PPM), but then again it's nearly impossible for me to read the tests where you're trying to match colors to parameters. Or notice when the color changes.

tried several different alk test kits. Went hanna and would never go back

Love the hanna alk (dkh). Super easy to use and has been accurate. Used salifert for years and always keep one one on hand incase there's an odd reading. If I had to choose between the two I'd go Hanna all day.
+1

I love the Hanna HI772 alk checker. The rest of the Hanna checkers... well not so much. The 772 is great tho and has always been accurate and the test procedure is super easy.

I don't think I'm going to spend $800 for something (that doesn't do anything that my present Apex Classic doesn't do adequately) so I can spend $500-600 for something that tests the big 3. My current tests are more than adequate. If it worked with my present Apex I might give it a thought.

It says magnesium will be +/- 10. That’s good, certainly, but most folks would not see a 10 ppm change in less than a week. So you’ll likely need to see weeks worth of automatic titrations to reliably detect a change, even with zero dosing.
