Im trying to decide which version of Hanna (ULR or just regular) I need or if I should go a totally different route. I've been battling GHA and maybe turf since I acquired my biocube second hand with the inherited issue in November. I was dosing vibrant once a week for about 7 weeks and then upped to twice a week for a few weeks now. It looks MUCH better however, the Algae keeps wanting to come back between my scrubbing during a water change. I usually do a 10 gallon water change every Friday. (although this week Im thinking about doing 15) Id like to stop dosing vibrant, dial in my feedings better, get my added clean up crew out of QT (March 22nd) and into my DT and maybe re-home a fish to reduce the heavy bioload on my tank... I'm kind of working blind though as the only test kits I have is API. I just ordered the Salifert Nitrate but I have read that the phosphate is pretty much worthless when it comes to interpreting the colors. I only have GSP and a couple of leather corals currently. I'd like to eventually up my corals to more easy softies and MAYBE a LPS or two. Nothing high maintenance.
If I decide to throw down, that kind of cash, which version of the hanna Checker would be best for my situation?
Ive also seen some people recommend NYOS or Tropic Marine. Would either of those be a good alternative since I'm not looking for super specific numbers here.
I'd love for people to weigh in and help me make an informed decision so Im not throwing money out the window. TYIA.
