I currently have the Hanna low range phosphate checker. Thinking about going with the ulr checker, do to the fact that I’m only running 5tbs of gfo in my reactor and still getting 0 reading. What are you guys option on the two, and do you think it’s worth spending another $50 on another checker?

I started with the ULR cause I figured it would be the only one I would ever need.

No going back now!

I don't have the ULR and I don't think I'd spend the money unless mine broke. Ocean water around reefs have around .1ppm of phosphate and my tank stays around .05ppm. I personally don't find worth in being able to read Ultra low levels of phosphate but if you really want to measure between .01 and 0 then it is what you will need

I could be way off base here, but, while I have heard good things about the ULR, I think the accuracy is still just plus or minus .02, where the standard low range is plus or minus .04.

Edit: Nevermind! It's +- 5ppb, or 5% of the reading. Not sure where I got that. Sorry!

Edit AGAIN: LOL I'm so confused. The HI774, which reads in PPM, is .02 accuracy. The PPB reader is the HI736. If I'm reading the conversion of phosphorus to phosphate right, that one is pretty similar, though, with an accuracy of .015. Slightly better.

Yes I’m talking about type phosphate not phosphorus.

Was just gonna say hanna released a ulr phosphate checker sometime late last year, but looks like you know that! I have the ulr phosphorous checker and love it, but plan to buy the ulr phosphate just because we are used to reading it in ppm and it does that for us.

It great to have the ulr when issue pop up caused by phosphates. I have had mine for almost two years.

$8.00 for the refills is also a plus.
