I know there are other posts, but I did not want to hijack someones thread so I made my own.

For the love of my sanity or should I say salinity.;)

I have the HI713 and the HI717 High range checkers.

HI713 measures 0.00, but the HI717 measures .7

Nitrates 0
Ammonia 0
PH 8.07 Digital Aquatics Reef Keeper lite plus PH probe
Alk 11.4
Temp 80

100 gallon with sump currently fish only. Tank is a little over a year running

I have had some short GHA on the top rocks, but it has not spread or grown and I have been having issues with algae growing on the glass. Have not had this issue before. Tried getting some Chaeto with a grow light in the sump, but I just pulled out what looked like a very small piece of dying Chaeto. This makes me assume there is not enough nutrients for it.

So do I get the ULR HI736 or am I asking for more brain busting confusion. I am trying to get myself ready to go to the Coral way, but I am a little held back as I know that just makes more work and I do not wish to kill anything. thanks for your advice.

You only need PO4 down to 0.3. Chasing these minuscule numbers will cause more trouble that needed. Buy either of them.

I have both and that was why I was kinda asking. Need to figure out which one is more accurate for me and use it and shelve the other. So I will use the HI717 HR Phosphate since it is the one that picks up readings.

Also I definitely understand that if everything is healthy and thriving to not chase the numbers.
