Hanna Phosphate ULR Checker reagents

Edit: Nevermind, found my answer after a bit more searching. The reagents are NOT interchangeable

While at the LFS I picked up some HI713 LR Phosphate Reagent not realizing I picked up the wrong one. I have the ULR Phosphate ppm checker that uses HI774. Can I still use the LR reagents or is it best to return it for the ULR?

I did the same thing, except across the Phosphorus/Phosphate line. I accidentally bought a couple boxes of ULR Phosphate reagents, but I have the ULR Phosphorus checker. When I got an unexpected reading, I noticed my error I exchanged the unopened box to my LFS and gave them the open box and told them to pass it along for free to the next customer who has that checker. When I got home with the proper reagents and tested, I got the same results, lol.

yeah, although the reagents are technically not "interchangeable" (may be different in amounts and precision) they are substantially the same. You will find nearly the same results between the various hanna P, PO4, ULR, LR packets.

So if you got the wrong packet, just use it until you get the correct one in.

For what it's worth, since we are snowed in here on the east coast I decided to try the LR HI713 reagent in the ULR checker. With the LR reagent the checker read 0.07ppm. With the ULR reagent (still had 3 packets left) it read 0.02ppm. I guess it could still be used if you remember to subtract 0.05 from your reading, yes?

I would not assume it is off by a fixed 0.05 ppm without testing it at many levels of phosphate.
