Hanna phosphate ULR

I'd suggest diluting your sample and try again. Add 5mL of tank water and 5mL of RODI water. Do the rest of the test per the instructions. Whatever result you get, multiply by 2 to get the true value.
.80 × 2 = 1.6 what I got

Had a question if you can please. ppm .90 . Do I have to do any math or is it the right reading for my phosphate.
No math needed; that reading is in parts per million which is what is commonly used.

I just recently purchased this test kit this test kit. Hanna HI774 Phosphate. I got a reading of .90 I need to know if this is to high. What ppm I need to have. I've been having some issues with algae. Please any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Have you thought about a refugium with chaeto? Took my high PO4 & NO3 to almost zero.

I heard of that my only thing is that I have a fluval 13.5 tank. Where would I stick it at?

Yikes! You're phosphate level is at least 1.6 ppm. Could be higher because your 50% dilution is still up toward the top end of the range.
Yup. I just add this to my tank. Was recommended to me by many people.

Tbh I’d highly doubt your phosphates are that high if you have corals in the tank.

Plus a reading of .9 can just be an error message I believe.

You can grow Cheato in the 2nd chamber of the Fluval Evo. I thought about it but I have my heater in there.

After some research I bought some Seachem PhosNet as I thought my phosphates were drifting up, but they went back down again so I haven't had to use it yet.

Do you know why your phosphates are so high? Are you using RODI water? How old is the tank and what do you have in it?

I added 5mL of RO water and 5 mL for tank water. I got .80

I just pulled out my dead sea hare from my tank after doing a water change I just saw it. Everyone seem good.

You can do a further dilution to triple check if you want, but I'm pretty sure you're in a super high phosphate situation. Anyway, add two mL of tank water then fill the vial to the line with RODI. Then multiply the result by 5

I agree that the tank looks too clean to have PO4 that high chronically. However, it may be an acute level due to the death of the sea hare if it's been rotting in there for a bit.
