Hanna Phosphorus ulr have I converted this right?

First time using a Hanna phosphorous url checker and I’m not sure if I’m converting this correctly?

Phosphorus ULR result: 27

So to convert to phosphate:
27 x 3.066 = 82.782 / 1000 = 0.082782 ppm PO4

So my phosphate is 0.08?

Thanks everyone, I’m really impressed with it I’ve been using Salifert and thought my phosphate was undetectable but this proves it’s not! Time to add some GFO.

never looked for one as I use the hanna checker and it gives me the actual reading.

Tell me what conversion you are looking for (this to that) and I will look for one for you.

I used to multiply by 3.1 and divide by 1,000 (close enough). Now I'm so used to the ppb I don't convert it at all.

To convert alk ppm to dkh you multiply by .056. I'm sure there is a chart somewhere as well.

good question!

The reason a lot of folk use the phosphorus ULR vs the regular phosphate is a much more accurate reading in the low range as you are measuring ppb of phosphorus and converting to ppm of phosphate

I have checked my Phosphate checker from time to time with my res sea test kit and it has been right together every time.

If you’re shooting for ULNS, then the phosphorus ULR is the most accurate.

If you’re not interested in high accuracy at .03 or below, then phosphate is just fine and very accurate

Don't forget that Hanna advertises the HI736 ULR checker having an accuracy of +/- 5 ppb , +/- 5% of the reading. So if your reading is 27, the actual phosphorus value could be anywhere from 20.4 to 33.4 ppb, which would mean the actual phosphate could be anywhere from 0.063 to 0.102 ppm.

If (like the linked page says) it really has the same specs as the ULR phosphorus checker, then it would certainly be a lot more convenient to be able to read phosphate number directly instead of doing the math. But I enter my ULR phosphorus readings into Apex Fusion and it does the math for me, so no big advantage in that case.

So mine read 0.90 what would mine be at?
