Have a question my Hanna checker is flashing a 300 result is this the max that can read if so how do I adjust to get a good reading .I also was wondering if anyone uses the red sea calcium test to compare with ELOS kit I'm getting as much as 80ppm difference RS-390 elos- 470 ?

I moved this question here from the thread it was in which wasn't related to it.

Are you asking about the HI758 calcium checker?

Are you sure it is blinking 300 and not 200 (means under range) or 600 (means over range)?

Hanna alk hi755 checking my effluent off my calcium reactor . Ran it twice 300 flashing both times . I also ran the reference and it was fine .

300 is the max it can read.
To check the effluent from the calcium reactor you will need a more traditional Alk test.

OK I was not aware of that but had a feeling that was the problem when it was flashing .Thought maybe I could dilute the sample or something ?

Not sure on that. I had the same problem. Was testing effluent wondering why it would not increase. After about a week of testing I decided to read all the directions. Lol
