Hi, I'm curious to know if the same reagent is used for the hanna phosphorus p04 checker vs the phosphate checker. It is listed on the package as "sodium disulphate" for the phosphate checker. Has anyone tried buying sodium disulphate in bulk and just measured the weight of the powder in the packets, im using quite alot and looking for a more cost effective way of doing it. Thanks

If it works then it would persuade me to get a Hanna Checker. It's only the reagent costs that put me off.

Oh wow that is crazy yes now I understand

What I tried contacting them about that was illogical - Hanna's special offer on the Reefing test kit. What they charge for that in the UK, it's quite a lot cheaper in the UK to just buy it all separately. It actually can be cheaper to buy it all on ebay from the USA and pay the import taxes and postage rather than buying it in the UK.

You need a friend in the USA to order and send to you

The price is really an issue for us brits. I might buy some sodium disulphate and give it a go £6 for 100g of said chemical

My bad the listed chemical compound is Potasium disulphate/
Potassium pyrosulfate

Has anyone got the ULR phosphorus reader that can confirm that the tests use the same reagent? Im pretty sure its the sane stuff the reader just does the maths for you
