Howdy,

So today, I found a piece of equipment that should make life easier.. tougher. I prepare my salt water the night before, filling my salt mixing brute to the designated water line and dumping my 2.5 cups of salt (5 gallon water change weekly). I guess maybe I didn't measure my salt correct and it resulted in me sitting waiting with the salinity checker for 15+ minutes trying to raise the salt the last .002... When I used the refractometer this would literally take two seconds to see updated salinity as opposed to the checker taking ~ 1 minute to finalize it's reading.

I think moving forward I will be using my Hanna checker once a month to calibrate my refracotometer. Furthermore I will be finding something that is exactly 5 cups to remove any doubt with the salt I am adding.

Shouldn't it be 2 and half cups for 5 gallons at 1.025? And Hanna is spot on it may take a second longer but no guessing what line ur on calibrating at every other time you use it.
