Hi all.
Anyone any experience with the Hanna water testing kits?; are they accurate and worth the investment.
I’m finding salifert tests difficult to read (colour wise).
Thanks.

I think you will like the Hanna kits for exactly the reason you cite: easier to get the info. I also hate trying to discern the color. Especially when it is in between two colors on the charts.

Good! Thanks. I’ve no idea what my PH is atm as it is very much between colours! Don’t find them easy to read at all.
Have you experience with the KH/Ca/Mg ones? As in near future I will be getting the Apex Neptune, so won’t require a Hanna for PH as on apex.

I use the Ca, DKH, ulr phos, copper, ulr nitrite now for nitrates (trying out new test you can read on this forum). PH I have apex monitor but you can get a low cost direct read pencil probe for that off amazon or BRS.

Otherwise I use Red Sea kits as I like their chemicals better and I test everything including the trace elements.

Yay for KH and PO4 (actually Phosphorus-ULR)
I also feel like colorblind when need to compare colors...
It’s a yay for all the above then
It’s gonna be a big order..... and a little more overtime at work I think

@Alphareef agree. Phosphorus for phos In ppb. I think they also have the phosphate in ppm but I use the former same as you.

The only one that's worth it to me is the phosphate checker. The rest I greatly prefer salifert. Salifert is very easy to discern the color change.

I agree the phosphorus checker is the best unit by Hanna. If I wanted to measure phosphate, its the way I would do it,.

Any Hanna you get, be certain it says suitable for seawater. Some are not.
