Hanna ULR and BRS GFO

Just bit of info
Been battling green algae in my 55 corner for some time.
Received Hanna ULR Meter and brs GFO

Tested prior to starting GFO using Hanna .08. Seems right

12 hrs after starting GFO Hanna reads .025

Pretty happy. Going to see if algae dies off now

It might not at 0.025 ppm. It probably takes a lower level.

I was thinking that. At .025it should at least not grow any further? Hopefully after another 12 to18 hrs it should be low enough. I can say that some of my corals are much happier today with phosphate at the .025 than they were previously at .08. On the right track I believe

I do not know for hair algae in particular, but with phytoplankton in normal seawater, if there is 0.03 ppm or higher, phosphate is not limiting to growth. What that means is that it will grow equally well at 0.03 and 1 ppm phosphate, and only be slowed as you get below 0.03 ppm. Otherwise, something else, such as N, is limiting the growth rate.
