I bought one calibrated it and checked ta k. Its reading at 34.5ppt @ 79° do you think that's fine or should I raise it to 35ppt? I don't have a ato I top off every 2 days about a gallon to 2g. It's a 65g tank w 20g sump probably 50 gallons of water total

For fish and corals it’s good, if you are more into corals measuring your major elements is just as important. Does your 34.5ppt reach your alk, mag, cal necessity for your tank?

Haha yall will beat me for this. I dont check mag all and calc
That statement is confusing to me. Does different ppt have different trace element levels or are you asking is my trace elements up to where they need to be?

Higher the ppt mix the higher the elements would be. Not all tanks need higher elements. We have two tanks and one has more corals and consumes alk faster than another, that tank mixes Red Sea pro to 35ppt, the other gets tropic Marin bio actif with normal levels

Yea I just play it by sight kinda stuff lol. Tanks doing well. Few coral not as colorful as I'd hoped but they still have good color and growth

I need to be more involved slowly getting my equipment together. Want a apex for my 265 set up. It's not up yet. Have everything minus apex fish and coral lol.
