I accidentally bought the high level phosphate checker. Will this still suffice for my reef tank? I already used it so I don't think it is returnable. I can't figure out how low it goes. I was at 1.3 last month so I started dosing vodka. This month it is reading 0.0. Will this reader read .0? Or is it just .? and higher.

Which model number tester do you have? I'm not sure which you're referring to. AFAIK there are the Phosphate Checker and the Phosphorus Checker which some prefer as it reads a lot lower.

If you're testing zero, don't write-off having a bad batch of reagents - I went six months at 'zero' before realising and getting the reagents replaced.

It’s not bad reagents. It was testin 1.3 and steadily decreased over 1 month of dosing vodka. I have the hi717 they make 3. High, low, and ultra low.

I have the HI713. Looking at the spec I don't think the 717 is going to be much use for reef testing. It depends what level of accuracy you're looking for.

The Phosphate checker when its giving 0 could actually have a Po4 of 0.04 (as shown on BRSTV ) so you don't know at these low ranges with the Phosphate if it is really 0 and you have stripped everything or if you are Ok.

Great. That sucks. Anyone want to buy a lightly used Hannah Phosphate High Level checker??
