I picked up a used cube tank today 3 sided starphire with eurobrace on 4 topsides. The tank has an external overflow with beananimal overflow system. So far I was very happy up to the point ....

I chipped the tank. Oh man I'm devastated :( when moving the tank out of the seller home the tank hit the elevator and chipped the front eurobrace piece of glass. Bummer.

Now I'm left with a very nice tank with a big blemish. Good part - the canopy covers the chip part well but it bothers me still. I plan on addig silicone to prevent further damage and any leaks or now. Would u rebrace the tank? How much would you guys think it'll cost.

pic of the chip and where on the tank please!!
how thick is the glass
lots more plays into severity of the damage done :)

The chip is on the front eurobrace piece . Glass is 1/2"

The eurobrace isn't broken but just chipped in tje middle of the front piece of the eurobrace.

Try & look on the brightside, at least the canopy covers it & you don't have to see it......knowing it's there is 1 thing, having to see it everytime you look at the tank is another......

It's hard to judge how bad it is without pictures.

fwiw, 4 years ago when I was setting up my new 240, I was putting big pieces of live rock in the tank and hit the middle eurobrace and cracked it. I didn't realize how bad it was untill several months later when salt creep started showing up and highlighted the crack. That was 4 years ago and I still haven't replaced it and everything is fine.
