holy smokes, they are so kool.. all these posts recently about people having all these babies with there sea horses are making me want to get a pair! =]

Yes, they were expected. I have had this daddy in in-tank nursery for about a week. I didn't expect him so get so large and have so many since this was his first brood.

Yes, I will raise them.. I breed seahorses.

I counted them as I turkey basted them out of the nursery tank..... I got to watch him have babies.. I lnever tire of seeing babies born.

everyone have a very Happy Easter....

That's amazing. An Easter miracle. What type of food will you start them on?

Yeah i have never spawned anything before...must be a very cool experience!! Hope they grow up big!!

They start on enriched baby brine for a month or so, then I start add frozen cyclopeeze, and once they are eating that, I get them on frozen mysis. The tanks get broken down and sterilized once a week. This is along with daily 30% water changes via siphoning....

Wow that is a serious schedule of things to take care of....you gotta be very dedicated! Do you know what the survival rate is if everything is followed right?

I average probably a 75% survival rate..... there are a lot of factors and keep in mind, seahorses have that many babies because some are not meant to live.
