Happy Friday all. I've seen large protein skimmers and I even have a picture with me next to a skimmer at Golden baskets thats taller than me but check this out from tenji inc. Lol. Monstrous.
For those who don't believe in skimmers... lol

A beast...and stop laughing at me ! I believe in skimmers, but in my case once your rock is 25 years +/- in system, well....she gone. And for the better at my current juncture.

Why would you run one super giant skimmer instead of multiple giant skimmers? The build cost, lack of redundancy, chances of it getting "un-dialed in", etc. Seem to make a single skimmer a poor idea.*

*The above thoughts are predicated on the assumption that this is a single skimmer running a/multiple systems.

If ur skimmer isn't set and go than u have a crappy skimmer. Lol. Ir un constant water level

There's break in time, pumps get clogged/jammed with sand/snail/algae etc. Skimmer bubble formation can change with feedings, water changes, failure of a return pump or reactor pump that leads to a water level change in the sump, increased or decreased stock level, die offs, the list goes on.

Much of that can be mitigated with automation and using an external skimmer (though that's subject to the feed pump or manifold).

Your skimmer shouldn't skim all the time. It should skim on and off with the nutrient levels.
This is my opinion. Yes more nutrients will equal more skimate. Pre filters are a good thing prior to ur skimmer intake. E.g. socks. Or a filter cup with sponge or floss in it.
