I don't think these are diatoms. They are a huge pain to remove. I have to like scrape them off with something sharp... I assume its a kind of algae, but I don't know how to get rid of it. I did change my lights recently from 16W LED's to one 32W LED. I have them start to ramp up at 7:30AM reaching 100% power at 11AM Then start the ramp down at 7:30 PM and lights out at 11 PM.

Any idea on how to remove them and get them to stay away? You can barely see them in the picture because they are so tiny but they are taking over the glass.

Alright I angled it towards itself more. Not much I can do about the sides since my tank is so tiny

I get that too if I don't clean my glass frequently. I figured it as a corroline-type algae. I would go in there with a razorblade (glass tank only) and scrape it all clean. Then just keep up with cleaning your glass.

Likely some form of coralline algae. Unfortunately, they are inevitable. They will develop, and they will keep coming back. Like any algae that forms on glass, the key is to find a tool to scrap them off regularly. Fortunately, these tools are easy to find. You can get a stainless steel paint scraper with a handle from any hardware store. Or, you can get that scraper attachment that goes a mag float. The latter is what I use. Both work wonders and are easy to use. Be careful working them close to the silicone seals, though. These scrapers will easily lift the silicone off if you're not careful.
