Hard growth on plate coral

Can someone please ID this worm like growth on my plate coral? It is very hard and does not scrape off.

Is it tube like? If so might be a mini duster or worm.

It is tubelike but I have not seen any fans or feathers like a feather duster worm.

How do I get rid of it?

Snap it off with some pliers is what I do but you run the risk of breaking the coral as well, so go slow, get a good grip.
