Hello everyone.
so I'm currently in the process of hard plumbing my reefer 350 v3 sump. I’m wanting to use my ato tank that it came with as a refugium. But the problem right now is how to get the check valve to fit with the ato tank For the return. I was thinking of going through the tank but was wondering if I would be able to submerge pvc into salt water without running into issues.
Here’s a mock up of the manifold of how it was going to be without the check valve with. And some pics of the space that I’ll be needing . Check valve was longer than I expected it to be so the current manifold won’t work.

hi cannot picture what you are trying to do,but yes is safe to use pvc in saltwater, happy reefing

How much bigger is it with the Check valve on?

can you turn the T fitting 90 degrees then add an elbIow, then plum the check valve into the elbow?

submerging then pvc won’t be a problem

I think if I turned it 90 it would be the same as the t. I’ve added the Red Sea fitting and now it makes it drop about 2 1/2 “- 3” into the ato reservoir. That’s why I was wondering if submerging would be ok. I’m thinking about adding 2 bulk heads on the right side and one on the left. 1 for drainage for the refugium and one for the return line to go thru and out to the left. But I’m not sure yet :/

Or just don't use a check valve atall and save the frustration you're having now and in the future when you have to clean it weekly in the hopes it will actually work when you need it:)

Ditch the check valve. Mine started leaking a year ago and was of no use. I drilled a 1/8 inch hole into my return elbow and jammed a piece of air line tubing into at water level. Now when I shut the power off, air flows into the air line tubing killing the siphon. It works way better than the check valve.

Could you send a pic if possible??
